All the News That Fits Into a Size Seven and a Quarter Hat

Amy Herold from the Orchard

An orchard is an intentional planting of trees or shrubs that is maintained for food production. Orchards comprise fruit or nut-producing trees which are grown for commercial production.

Victoria Wayne purchased an apple orchard in 2011 after returning from civilian service in Iraq.  She is restoring both the abandoned orchard and the old farmhouse to its former health and beauty. Her daughter Vanessa has been creating new food products from the apples and fruit grown on the farm including some exciting combination jams that she is planning to private label in the near future.

Amy Herold  has been photographing these goodies made exclusively from apples and fruits grown on this newly named Pleasant Hill Farm, which was once part of a much larger apple farm located in Sebastopol, California.  It encompasses 5 acres of Fuji, Red Delicious, Royal Gala and Granny Smith apple trees as well as a small vineyard. Pleasant Hill Farm apples are fresh marketed in Oliver’s Markets in Santa Rosa and Cotati and are also made into Solana Gold applesauce, juice and cider.  We are looking forward to many more delicious pies and jams from Vanessa as well as tasty new images from Amy Herold.

What’s all this?
