All the News That Fits Into a Size Seven and a Quarter Hat

Goodbye Kathryn Joosten

Today we share a couple of Harold Lee Miller’s beautiful portraits of Kathryn Joosten, the Emmy-winning character actress who passed away this weekend. She was best known as the crotchety but lovable Karen McCluskey on Desperate Housewives and the president’s secretary on The West Wing. She was 72 and only started acting when she was 42. Harold photographed her late last year along with several other women around the country for a portrait campign similer to his own Chicago Street Casting Project. “Special kudos to Kathryn Joosten for being her quirky, fearless self and being completely uninhibited in front of the camera. She was such a pleasure to work with”.- HLM
