The new Maslov dot com is finally alive!
Those of you who have ever created your own website know how much blood, sweat and tears it takes to design, build and post it on the web.
You’ve gone through the long process of editing your work, sifting through hundreds or thousands of your photographs, illustrations or designs, doing countless edits where you’ve over analyzed every image, every series, considered what should be included and in which category and what order they should appear.
Then, after doing all that, you couldn’t decide how many categories to include and what to call them; Portfolio 1, 2 & 3 ? Indoors, outdoors ? Studio, location ? Black & white and color ? Portraits, lifestyle, fashion, food, still-life, conceptual, travel, landscapes, Moe, Larry & Curly or Tattooed naked people ? You asked for the opinions of your friends, your family, your agent, maybe even your hair stylist or bartender. And, of course, everyone gave you different answers. It was not an easy thing to do. But at some point you had to just let go and get the damn thing up for everyone to see.
How do I know all this? I am about to launch a totally new Maslov dot com site showcasing the photographers I represent. After wrangling ten artists and going through all of the above with each of them, I am excited to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
After looking into various possible custom options and the one-stop-all-you-can-eat template companies, I decided to go with a website from APhotoFolio. It is an easy to use on-line portfolio service. The images show up large, clean and beautiful and they are pretty quick with responses to your questions. And now, finally with all the design and editing work complete and the technical help from my very patient and talented assistant Alexandra Farias, we are live. And Maslov dot com will live happily ever after… until we have to do it all over again.
